Shopping doesn't has to be expensive!
Has anyone thought one can own many nail good quality nail polish and yet afford lots of it? Here are my nail polish collection that I have bought in my recent haul. I used to buy nail polish from Sally Hansen, Revlon, Maybelline, The Face Shop, OPI etc however after not using it for awhile, they becomes thick and sticky as they evaporate off after some time and I will end up wasting money on them.
So I like to try new things even if they are cheap, I chance upon these really cheap and good quality nail polish at Watson for $2.90 to $3.90. During sale period, I bought it for only $2! Also I pick up some of my nail polish from Malaysia under this brand call Elianto. I think it is a Korean brand and I love love love their nail colours! And the best part is...it only cost $2 only. I'm not kidding as I paid $5 ringgit for each. You can grab them if you are at Mid Valley Megamall. The shop is at the basement next to the chains of food restaurant like Nandos, Manhattan Fish Market etc.
My cheap nail collections:
1) Sylvie ( Watson ) $2,90 Hits!
2) Golden Rose ( Watson ) $3.90 Miss!
3) Elianto ( Malaysia, Mid Valley Megamall ) RM$5. Hits!
4) Disney Villians Nail polish ( Watson ) $2.90 Not sure yet.
5) Rubi ( CottonOn ) $2.00 Miss!
6) China Glaze ( Gmarket ) If budget allows, Yes!
7) Nail Art ( Watson )$2.90 Hits!
Golden Rose- I probably would give it a miss even it is cheap as I find the quality to be somewhat not as what I hope it to be. It is a quite runny and the colour is not so pigmented which I probably would have to apply 3 layers to obtain the colour that I want. The bottle cap is too skinny which makes it really really hard to open.
Disney Villians Nail Polish- I have not really apply on my entire fingers to share the experience however I think it is abit thick and it probably take a longer time to dry up. I won't give it a miss yet and probably would try it first before I would decide if there will be repeated purchase. This is my first bottle that I'm trying.
Love all the browns and taupe. Best for work!
Ps: I only apply 1 coat just to show you and look how pigmented it is!
Colours is in sequence according to the colours painted on my fingers.
My favourite colour is these 3. Especially the nude colour from Elianto. Love it!
These are the reds and the coral orange. The last finger was a very light metallic pink which I used for some of my french manicure with black. It makes a pretty pretty combination. I did that for my company dinner & dance adding some flowers stickers and sparkle dust to it and it was fabulous. So many of my colleagues both male and female notice it and was surprised I did my nails myself. Anyway it was a really pretty pink. I also love love the dark pink on my thumb. It is a pretty colour for my toes.
I won't recommend the Golden Rose which on my middle finger and the third bottle. I must admit I was so attracted to the colour and thought Chinese New Year is around the corner. Red would be gorgeous and for luck. Typical Chinese..haha. Anyway, see my review on top and I definitely won't recommend to purchase this unless you can stand the hassle of applying 3 coats and the skinny bottle cap which is totally hard to grab and open. :( I love the pinky red from Elianto on the extreme right. Love it!
The purples. As you can see, some does not look as glossy. These are first coat only except for the lavender colour which I have applied 2 coat. I won't recommend it because the colours doesn't look pigmented and the bottle cap would comes off even when you lightly open it. See pics below and you know what I mean. Love the red wine colour on my index finger!
The lighting on the previous pic is abit dark, so this is the red wine colour that I simply love. I only apply 1 coat and it would probably look darker after the second coat. But still it is a lovely classic burgundy colour.
This is another deep deep purplish black from Sylvie and definitely look good when those days you just feel like painting a dark colours which instead of black, you can chose this colour. :)
The purples, as according to the colours painted on my finger.
This is what I mean, the bottle cap just came off when you try opening the bottle. And the colours is not pigmented enough. It was a miss for me and I would never buy nail polish from Cotton On ever again. :(
Another colour that I won't recommend even I buy alot of nail polish from Sylvie but it is just this one that I strongly won't recommend you to buy because it is just so translucent. The blue is really nice but when you apply it, the colour is uneven and not pigmented enough to show off the total blue. Totally a miss for me :(
This is so cute. Disney villians... you probably become one of the villian with purple nails after using the Disney Villians nail polish..haha.. This is my first bottle and I haven't really use it on all my fingers to give a review on this but if you don't see me buying repeatingly, which means it is a no no for me. They have really nice colours but I don't think they look pigmented enough so this is the only one that I bought so far and have yet to really try it to give much comments on it.
I use these super duper good base coat that I bought from nail bliss. I think it is call erylnal on the extreme left as you can see..These base coat is so good and I bought it like 2 to 3 years back and it is doesn't dries up and the best thing that I love about this product is it doesn't dries up my nails and protect my nails from other nail polish that I will be applying on top of it. Whenever I use this, I notice my nails doesn't turn yellowish or brittle. But it is a bit costly as far as I can remember it probably cost more than $20 or so?
Also I bought the Nail Art nail polish for only $2.90 which comes in many colours which I grab the black and the gold for the nail arts that I'll be needing with these colours. Lastly it is this glittering dust that I pick up from a stationary shop for only $2. This is great when you want to use it for your nail art.
This is how I store my nail polish. You can get this acrylic holder with small compartments only for $2 at Daiso. It really helps to keep these nail polish organize. :)
Happy shopping!
